This we are going to see regular administration tasks of HANA Database admin.
Monitor the health of your SAP HANA system using, for example, the SAP HANA Studio/ SAP HANA cockpit. The most important system information to review is:
- Overall system status
- Status of database services, for example, name server, and index server
- General system information (software versions and so on)
- Alerts generated by the statistics service
- Usage of important system resources: memory, CPU and disk
- Perform regular data backups, including configuration backups. There are no specific guidelines for backup frequency, which depends on the usage scenario
- Avoid the log backup area becoming full by archiving old log backups to a different location.
Monitor disk space used for diagnosis files and delete files that are no longer need
The above-given tasks are an essential task/monitoring need to perform on the HANA database on daily basis to avoid database-related issues.
